Here is the first in-progress screenshot of concept number two for my article drawing. I went in and got rid of the straw in favor of making the head into a mason jar. The liquid and label have remained the same. At this stage, all my flat colors are in.
This is screenshot two of my head jar showing all the shading is complete. Not much has changed at this point aside from the added shade with a blue tint.
This is screenshot three which now shows the main illustration as finished. Highlights have been added and the line art has also been colored. I also tilted the jar and centered it on the canvas. The next step is to add a background and text to the label.
Here is the completed image. I added text as a background element that just says 'statistic' in three different shades of gray. The opacity of the text was turned down to 70% to help make it a little less distracting. The background color is the same as concept number one (just blended out this time). The jar is also semi-translucent to help aid the idea that it is made of glass.
